Halloween Safe Driver Campaign
We are proud to sponsor a public service announcement to help "keep our trick and treaters safe" on Halloween. We want to do our part to remind drivers to be extra careful with driver safety tips. This will be aired on AM Sports Talk Radio 1140 October 25th through October 29th. You can hear our last message Friday night at 10:25 pm.

Did You Know
That if you have made extensive home renovations, you should review your Homeowners Insurance Policy. Let’s say you just remodeled your kitchen and bathroom. That is great! However, you could be underinsured if an accident or disaster occurs. Contact us for a free consultation to make sure you are fully protected.
Many people don’t realize that renters insurance is very affordable. The average cost of renters insurance is about $12 per month for $30,000 of property coverage and $100,000 of liability coverage according to the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America. The liability coverage will pay for medical bills and legal defense fees if a guest falls or is injured in your home. And, if someone breaks in and steals your computer or television, you will not be covered unless you are insured. Your landlord will only insure the building.

Insurance Commissioner Nominee
Assemblyman Mike Villines is the Republican nominee for Insurance Commissioner. Diana and Cliff Cottam recently met him at the Agents Alliance 2010 Convention. This was a great opportunity for us to discuss our views and issues facing the industry.
Key points from an interview aired on Insurance Journal Radio.
“Consumer groups have criticized Villines for being too closely aligned with insurance companies, but he notes he has taken no money from insurance companies and touts his record as an independent, pragmatic businessman who will put the protection of consumers first.
I'm a former business owner … That's one of the reasons why I want to run for this seat," Villines said. "The insurance commissioner in California's job is a nonpartisan job. It really isn't a Republican/Democrat job. He'd also like to see rates and new products approved more quickly, which he'd do with an improved customer service approach at the department. He said California is notorious for taking a year or more to approve new products, when some states do it in 60 to 90 days.”
We know from personal experience that rate approvals need to improve. This has adversely affected California consumers in the past year (especially when the rates are lowered). We believe Mike Villines is the best candidate for Insurance Commissioner and support him in seeking this office.
Employment Opportunities
We are partnering with Mira Loma High School and Los Rios Community Colleges to hire two students. This collaborate effort will help develop students for their future careers as well as ensure that we continue to give you the best customer service.
The internships will be for a General Office Assistant and a Social Networking Engineer. The Social Networking Engineer job will be posted on the Los Rios Community website http://wexp.losrios.edu/. We anticipate bringing someone onboard in January 2011.
